Q: What is a full body Swedish Massage like?
A: A full body swedish massage entails the use of oil or lotion to perform gliding massage strokes over the skin and to work the muscles that lay beneath with varrying amounts of pressure. Both the back and the front of the body are massaged, including the back, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, legs, feet, face, head and scalp. Abdominal, chest, and gluteal massage may be included upon request. Each session will be customized based on the client's physical needs and their preferences for the masage. Special focus is given to any problem areas of tension, or areas the client requests more work on.

Q: Do I have to undress for my massage?
A: You will undress to the level of your comfort for each full body swedish massage. Keep in mind that oil or lotion is used for the gentle gliding strokes used, which can be impeded by bulky clothing. The majority of clients undress completely, or down to their undergarments, but each massage can be customized for your level of comfort. Sheets are draped to cover every area of the body that is not currently receiving massage, so your modesty is maintained at all times. Speak with your therapist before each massage if you feel uncomfortable or have any questions.  Chair massage and Reiki do not require the removal of any clothing.

Q: What if I am embarrassed about my body?
This should never worry you! I work with clients of every size, shape, age, and gender. They all have one thing in common: they enjoy massage and believe in its healing benefits. Happy Spirit will always provide you with a safe and accepting environment, and only hopes to bring you relaxation and relief from tension, no matter what.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: I accept cash, personal checks or payment by Visa or Mastercard. I pay a small fee for each credit card transaction completed, so cash or check is greatly appreciated.

Q: Am I supposed to tip?
A: This is completely up to you. Tips are not expected as in most restaurants, but always appreciated. If you feel like the service you receive has gone above and beyond your expectations, gratuity is one of many ways you can say thanks. As a general guideline, when clients do choose to tip it is often in the $5-$20 range depending on the service provided.

Q: Do you bill insurance?
A: My intention is to bill insurance in the very near future.
Q: Can I combine several of your services in one session?
A: Of course! Many clients find their experience is heightened when I use aromatherapy during their session, or if they add hot stone massage or a 15-minute foot massage extension. There is no limit to what you can do, just ask!

Q: What is the easiest way to contact you or schedule an appointment?
A: Please see the Schedule an Appointment page for details about scheduling an appointment over the phone or over the internet. I have greater flexibility if you schedule over the phone or email than my online scheduling system allows. Visit the Contact Us page if you would like to submit feedback or ask a question.

Q: Will I have to fill out lots of paperwork when I get there?
A: The only form I require the first time I see you for a massage is the Confidential Health Intake form.  This provides me with details surrounding any recent injury, illness, or conditions that may require special attention/precaution during your massage. I keep the form on file so you only have to fill it out once.
